Ok my dear readers, you all know by know who my regular guest recipe contributor is : My sweet Sister in law! 🙂 Here is another gem from her wonderfully cooked recipes. We all just love this recipe. A bit time talking but totally worth it! **Drool**
Moong dal(boiled and mashed) – 3 Tb spoons
Saabudaana(soaked in water for 1 hour) – 4 Tb spoons
Carrot grated – 1
Coconut grated – 2 Tb spoons
Vermicelli(dry roasted) – 1 cup
Sugar – 1 1/4 cup
kaju , pista, badam(powdered coarsely) – 3 Tb spoons
Ground nut(powdered coarsely) – 1 Tb spoon
Ghee – 1 Tb spoon
Milk (boiled and thickened atleast by 30%) – 5 cups
In the kadhai add ghee. Add grated carrot and let it cook until the raw smell is gone. Then add grated coconut and fry it for 1 minute. Now add some water, let it boil and add saabudana, vermicelli. Once they are cooked add sugar. Once the sugar melts add moongdal paste, mixture of kaju, pista, badam, ground nut powders. Let it cook for 3-4 minutes. Now add milk and let the kheer cook on simmer for 5 minutes. Tasty and nutritious Nutty naughty kheer is ready.
